Korsman bylaws are necessary

Jane Trembath, chairperson: Korsman Conservancy, writes by email:

Your correspondent Karen Mills admits she breaks the bylaws by walking her dogs off leads.

Korsman Conservancy earnestly requests all dog walkers to not only keep their dogs leashed, but also to pick up after them.

Ms Mills feels that she is doing no wrong, but we have seen numerous incidents where people have come to harm because of unleashed dogs – normally well-behaved, but distracted out of the owner’s immediate reach.

Dogs see interesting things and dash across the road in front of cars and children on bikes.

They get into fights and bite the owners who try to separate them.

They rip open rubbish bags on the pavement and chase wild birds.

The bylaws are there to protect everyone.

We also wish to remind dog owners that it is a bylaw to pick up after your pet. This is not to mention the stench that spoils one’s walk, as well as the dismay caused on finding poo plastered to one’s shoe sole.

Ms Mills’ two Labradors are walked every day, that’s a lot of doggie doo left at Korsman.

Saber Tactical has sponsored signs for the conservancy which clarify relevant bylaws.

To Ms Mills and all dog owners – please do your part in keeping Korsman pleasant for everyone.
