The ugliness of xenophobia makes us all shrink in horror as we witness our beloved rainbow nation imploding with satanic fury.
We must root out all residual negative and derogatory name calling of our brethren from Africa and embrace them as our kith and kin.
We continuously refer to our brothers and sisters from Africa in derogative and humiliating insulting and unprintable clichés, using all kinds of means and ungodly expressions to refer to immigrants, which reinforces their so-called inferior societal status in our cultural milieu.
We must all bow our heads in shame and begin the tedious process of national reconciliation, and develop a healthy attitude of respect, acceptance and truly seek to integrate them in our society.
In this modern world of instant communication, have we become inured to horror?
Every day we are exposed to pictures of extreme violence, they flicker through our consciousness, moving on to the newest examples of human propensity for violence.
And we forget each previous example as the newest hits the media.
With tears in my eyes, I cry for my beloved country.
