To the family of The Benoni Butcher Co., who was gunned down by cowardly savages, my condolences.

I noted in your recent publication that a new brigadier has been appointed to the lofty position of station commander of the Benoni Police Station.
Policing and police visibility is non-existent, and the challenge for this new commander is to instil discipline among his rank and file, a tall order, considering the tarnished image of policemen and women in this country.
What is extremely troubling is that, since the murder, there has been absolutely no police visibility in the area, not even in solidarity with the local community, who have been traumatised by the incident.
