Family Day Out

Treat yourself to a family day out at the National Children’s Theatre (NCT) to watch “The Little Prince” currently on show until April 17.

“The Little Prince” is a heart-warming tale of love and friendship which is appealing to both children and adults.

The story is set in the heart of the Sahara Desert where a pilot and the prince become friends.

What localises this story is the pilot and narrator is played by Brandon Lindsay, who is straight out of Benoni.

The prince, who fell to earth from an asteroid, recalls his stories of his life at home.

He explained his departure from his home was the fault of a sultry singing rose whom he loved, but she made his life miserable.

She made his life so miserable that he leaves on intergalactic travels and meets fascinating characters, each a ruler of their planet and consumed by their occupation.

He also shared about his experiences on earth and his encounters with a dangerous snake, and a wise fox, which have different ways of looking at life.

It is here on earth that the Little Prince learns the most important life lessons.

Children love the wild and wondrous characters while the adults enjoy the story of spiritual renewal.

The NCT which is based on 3 Junction Avenue, Parktown, Johannesburg, presents this educational story to encourage children to use their imaginations.

Operating times are from Mondays to Saturdays during school term, and Tuesdays to Sundays during government school holidays.
