Dear Mr Traffic Officer, on one of the days during the week of August 8 to 12, I was driving behind you on my way home.
Send your letters to bctletters@caxton.co.za
Just past the Shell garage in Petit you indicated that you were turning left and then stopped at the side of the road.
The next moment you threw something that looked like a take away sachet or a serviette from the passenger window.
You might not realise this, but there are children and other people who look up to you law enforcement officers.
When “law abiding” law enforcement officers do something disgusting like this, then I don’t have any respect for you anymore.
I teach my children not to litter; it is disrespectful towards your fellow man and the people who have to walk around to pick up the mess others make.
If you were to drive in at the service station you would find at least nine dustbins where you could discard your trash.
How do you expect us to teach our children to do what’s right if you do wrong?
I would hereby like to thank all the workers who walk for kilometres on foot to pick up the trash from disrespectful people who can’t think to put a plastic bag in their vehicles for their trash and to discard it later when they find a dustbin.
Everyday I see so many people throwing trash from their parked or moving vehicles.
The majority is from grand pitch black Mercedes, BMWs and taxis.
People please; the world is our oyster, not a dumpsite.
Keep your trash until you can find a dustbin to put it in.
