Firstly, old water pipes in older houses and buildings might not be able to cope with the negative pressure build up of water being switched on and off.
Secondly, what happens if there’s a household or business fire during the night?
For the latter, the homeowner will be helpless in those critical minutes before a fire engine arrives.
Our roof is definitely too high to reach with buckets, even if we use the swimming pool water, and our fire extinguishers can’t spray that high either.
