I see the Ekurhuleni metro is back with its attempt to use the property at the Benoni Country Club (BCC) for a development of sorts 9it seems to be top secret as to what this development would consist of, and who is behind it) and has called for a public participation meeting scheduled at the BCC for November 22.

The BCC is a world-class facility of which every citizen of Benoni can be extremely proud, with excellent facilities for golf (for which it has hosted many national and provincial championships), tennis, bowls, squash, safe mountain biking, as well as the wildlife.
There are springbok, steenbok, duiker, blesbuck and the birdlife, none of which can be seen together at any other venue in Ekurhuleni.
This club has been developed by the hard work and dedication of many members over the 107 years of its existence, and remains one of the oldest clubs in the country.
The facilities are also extensively used by various charitable organisations as well as for many social occasions, including weddings, conferences, et cetera.
There is also The Green Craft Bar, which is a great place for the younger adults of Ekurhuleni to get together safely.
The club is totally self-supporting and therefore doesn’t need any financial help from council to operate.
I can assure council that every piece of this property is being fully utilised for the enjoyment and recreation of all citizens of Benoni, and any form of development would be a great step backwards for all of Ekurhuleni.
My advice to council is: keep your hands off what is working in your metro, and concentrate on the many facilities that aren’t working.
