Renewing your driver’s licence is an uphill battle

Denise Sergeant, of Rynfield, writes:

Can we please do something about the way in which we have to renew our driver’s licences?

The queues of people playing musical chairs is ridiculous.

Surely someone in the council could come up with a better system?

People waste countless hours waiting to have their eyes tested.

My other gripe is the garbage bags.

Apparently these will be collected by a different truck.

What are we supposed to do after that?

We live on a corner stand in Rynfield (half an acre) and so have quite a bit of pavement to keep clean and tidy (which used to be done by the council), as well as our garden.

At this time of year my husband often puts out 14 or more garbage bags, mainly leaves.

Wheelie bins are a nice idea if you have a very small property.

I just wish that those in charge of these decisions would think them through thoroughly before implementing them.

Editor’s note:

June 1 is the deadline by which waste will no longer be collected unless it is in a wheelie bin.
