Northerns u-11 Prems do it again
Benoni Northerns Football Club’s u-11 Premier League team has done it again.
For two years in a row, 2012 and 2013, they have won the ELFA u-11 Premier League.
They also recently added the ELFA Cup to their tally, to claim the “double” – the cup and the league in the same year.
In the u-11 Premier League they played 16 games, of which they won 11, drew four and lost just one.
They scored 45 goals in total and conceded just 13, which gave them a 32-goal difference.
They topped the overall log with a total of 37 points.
Manager of the team, Rowland Mundell, said: “This achievement is due to the boys’ commitment, team spirit, having fun and loyalty to each other, which was the winning recipe for the last two years
“Coaches Shawn Schaper and Toby Thomas played an integral part in on and off the field technical coaching and mentoring, as well as the pre-game chat in the dressing room.”
He also thanked the players’ parents for their support, the Benoni Northerns Football Committee, the team’s die-hard supporters and sponsors.
