Major A Indians get first win
Benoni Northerns Indians Baseball Club’s Major A team travelled to Kempton Park, on Sunday, March 23, to take on Kempton Red Sox.
After a substantial break the team was looking to bounce back from three successive defeats in the Major A Summer Baseball League.
According to assistant coach Ashley Scott, the match went very well for the Major As, and the team pulled off an excellent 13-6 victory.
“Our plan was to use a lot of pitchers, who all threw very well,” he said.
“There were quite a few strikes from the pitchers and we prevented their batters from walking bases as much as possible.”
Scott added that the team improved in the batting department and that hitting was something the players had been working hard on in training.
“We did not make many errors in the field and I am very happy with the boys,” he added.
