Nienaber moves into second place

Jaycee Nienaber, a Benoni resident and student at CTU college, in Boksburg, who rides for the Manhand Ridgeway Yamaha racing team, competed in the third round of the National Off-road Motorcycle Championship, the Bell 400, just outside Vryheid,on Saturday, May 10.

The conditions were very dry and dusty and tested the skill and determination of all the riders.

The 360km race was divided into two different loops, with six laps in total.

Jaycee won the OR2 (250cc class), and came seventh overall, with only 18 seconds separating the four riders between the fourth and seventh places.

He is now lying second, with only two points separating him from the first position in the overall OR2 Championship.

This event was also run in conjunction with the Regional Cross-country series, where Nienaber claimed first in the OR1 open class.

The National Off-road Championship will continue on Saturday, June 14, with the Vryburg Stella 400 that will take place in Stella, in the North West.
