Success at Misty Meadows
The Benoni-based 5th Avenue Equestrian Centre had a successful show over the weekend of September 13 and 14, at The Silver Star Series at Misty Meadows, with two of their horses winning the overall championship awards for two categories.
Tracy Harris, riding her horse, Chikara Astanal, in the adult preliminary tests, placed second in the first test, with a score of 64.44 per cent, and first in the second class, with a score of 71.88 per cent.
They also won the Overall Championship for the series, which is run over five shows.
See You There, the black thoroughbred stallion owned by Lauren Burrage and ridden by Lielie Burmeister, won both the Adult Elementary classes, the first with a score of 63.45 per cent, and the second with a score of 65.61 per cent.
This achievement placed See You There as the Champion Thoroughbred and the Overall Champion of the series.
Last weekend, See You There competed in the Gauteng Championships, at Kyalami Park, in the Adult Elementary class, where he placed seventh out of 25 competing horses.
The horse also won the Thorougbred Stallion of the Year award at the Horse of the Year Show, and was the Reserve Champion at the recent Pretoria Show.
