‘Tommy Gun’, Muller engaged in a ‘friendly’ battle
Lakefield resident Thomas ''Tommy Gun'' Oosthuizen and stablemate Johnny Muller cancelled each other out in an entertaining 12-round public sparring session, at the Nashua Hammer Gym, in Boksburg, on Saturday, October 25.
A horde of local boxing fans turned up to witness proceedings as the two star boxers prepared for their respective imminent fights against Russia’s Denis Grachev and Kevin Lerena, at the Top Guns boxing tournament, at Emperors Palace, on November 15.
Oosthuizen, who recently returned to the boxing scene after a lengthy lay-off, takes on Grachev in a WBC international light heavyweight title bout, scheduled for 12 rounds.
SA light heavyweight champion Muller, is set to square off against Kevin Lerena in a 10-round cruiserweight battle.
he day’s second title fight will also include a Russian, with Ali Funeka scheduled to face-off against Roman Belaev, in a 12-rounder for the IBO welterweight world title.
