Brilliant result for Bens
Old Bens first team coach, Raymond Cloete, was a proud man on Saturday, July 18, after his team defeated third-placed Luso Africa 4-1 in Primrose in their ELFA Super League clash.

The opening stages of the game belonged to Luso as Old Bens were under heavy pressure for the first 35 minutes.
“We had to defend, defend, defend, as they had 16 corners in their favour,” said Cloete.
The hosts would eventually get past Branden Senneck in the Old Bens goal and go into the halftime break 1-0 up.
In the second half, the tables turned and Cloete’s team soon stomped their authority on proceedings.
“They went to pieces in the second half while we played extremely well,” Cloete added.
New player Percy Striker equalised soon into the match after latching onto a sublime through ball from Gee More.
Bens were awarded a penalty and Ludick Malele stepped up and converted the spot kick to give the Benoni outfit a 2-1 lead.
The trickery and dribbling capabilities of Lesiba Modau were showcased when he found the back of the net to make it 3-1 after a fantastic run with the ball at his feet.
Steve Webster, promoted from the second team, made it 4-1 to the visitors when he headed home from a Modau cross.
“We have taken 12 points off the top four sides in the league in recent matches and playing good football,” said Cloete.
“I am delighted with this win away from home against a strong opponent.”
This week Old Bens will enjoy a bye fixture.
