Play junior cricket at Benoni Northerns

Benoni Northerns Junior Cricket (BNJC) is already in earnest preparation for what promises to be another enthralling season.

The club’s junior committee was elected in May and has been extended to six committee members to deal with the 130 plus young cricketers that are again expected to compete in the EJCCA club summer league.

Trials will once again be held at Benoni Northerns in the cricket net area on O’Reilly Merry Street side as follows:n u-8 age group: Sunday, August 30, 8.30am to 11.30am.

  • u-10 age group: Sunday, August 30, noon to 3pm.
  • u-12 age group, Saturday, August 29, 8.30am to 11.30am.
  • u-14 age group, Saturday, August 29, noon to 3pm.

Players are reminded to adhere to the club selection/trials protocol to be enforced on the day.

Dress code is to be strictly adhered to, failing which a player may be denied to participate in the trials.

Players must wear a predominantly white shirt (no provincial representation to be on the shirt) or Benoni Northerns cricket shirts may be worn.

Black or white long or short tracksuit type pants must also be worn.

Players must bring a used red cricket ball: 113g (u-8 and u-10); 135g (u-12); 156g (u-14).

No new ball will be allowed and no pink, white or other colour ball will be allowed.
