BNFC regret unconverted chances
After a convincing 5-0 home win over Kempton Park the previous weekend, Benoni Northerns Football Club (BNFC) travelled to Robertsham, in the south of Johannesburg, for an ELFA Super League encounter, on Saturday, August 29.
Their drubbing of Kempton, however, became a distant memory as defensive errors and poor finishing up front saw them land on the back end of a 4-1 defeat.
Coach Jannie van den Berg was particularly hopeful of victory against Robertsham, following a fiery affair when the two teams met earlier in the year.
Skipper Wade Marshall converted the sole goal for BNFC, but, there could have been more, as countless chances went astray.
They will host a strong Luso Africa side this weekend, before they play arch rivals Old Bens in a fortnight, in the second league “Benoni Derby” of the season, on Saturday, September 12.
