Harriers head to Comrades

Benoni Harriers Athletics Club’s (BHAC) runners are ready to conquer the 2016 Comrades Marathon.

The club held their Comrades Breakfast on the morning of Sunday, May 15, at Harvard Cafe in Bonaero Park, a fortnight before the famous race is run.

Forty runners from the club will head to Pietermaritzburg for the start of the world’s oldest and largest ultra-marathon.

Five novice runners will be making their race debuts while the club will also have three women runners taking on the 89km down run to Durban.

Patrick Mabombo and Solomon Mngomezulu will be aiming to complete their 10th Comrades and earn their place in the illustrious Green Number Club.

BHAC member James Reid will be running a whopping 26th Comrades while Dawie du Toit and Kishore Magan will aim for Comrades finish number 17.

Aidan Jasper will be doing his 16th run.
