Season’s best are acknowledged by BNCC
Benoni Northerns Cricket Club (BNCC) held their senior prize-giving function, to pay homage to those who had a successful 2015/2016 Eastern Cricket Union season, on the night of Saturday, May 14.
Unlimited Titans all-rounder and Momentum One Day Cup Player of the Year Grant Thomson was the guest speaker on the evening.
The following individuals and teams were acknowledged and received awards:
• Premier League: Best Batsman: Ernest Kemm. Best Bowler: Stiaan Jordaan; Captain’s Choice: Thys van Lingen.
• Promotion League: Best Batsman: Richard Thompson. Best Bowler: Jaco Kruger; Captain’s Choice: Twayne Stewart.
• Director’s League: Best Batsman: WP Myburgh. Best Bowler: Nicholas Savage; Captain’s Choice: Dylan Swart.
• Chairman’s League: Best Batsman: Ryan Pfeifer. Best Bowler: Jan Grobbelaar; Captain’s Choice: Tracy Simms.
• Colts League: Best Batsman: Jason Tait. Best Bowler: Matthew Wittstock; Captain’s Choice: Brett Martindale.
• Saturday First League: Best Batsman: Tian van der Walt. Best Bowler: Joshua Thomas; Captain’s Choice: Twayne Stewart.
• Saturday Third League: Best Batsman: Matthew Wright, Best Bowler: Rowen Viljoen, Captain’s Choice: Niall Hurley.
• Women’s League: Best Batswoman: Anelda van Tonder. Best bowler: Michelle Mac Vay. Captain’s Award: Alicia Smith-Harding.
Club awards went to:
• Bowler of the Year and Cricketer of the Year: Jaco Kruger.
• Batsman of the Year: Ryan Pfeifer.
• Junior Cricketer of the Year: WP Myburgh.

• Coach’s Award: Mark Robey.
• Clubman of the Year: Logan Green (Benoni City Times).
• Chairman’s Award: Suleiman Ebrahim.
• Team of the Year: Colts XI.
• Special Award: Women’s League XI.
