Old Bens take a knock in season’s first game

Old Bens Football Club’s first XI was beaten 4-1 by Randburg in their first Eastern Local Football Association (ELFA) season game on Saturday, March 11.

Coach Raymond Cloete said he lost both his centre backs early in the game, and the opposition scored twice shortly after.

“After that we didn’t recover, and they scored two more goals,” Cloete said.

“It was a tough game and we didn’t perform great, but there are 29 games left in the season for us.

“We still have a long way to go and we’re hoping to do better than last year.”

Lisibe Madau scored the goal for Old Bens.
