Excellence on the links at Ebotse

It was a weekend of superb golfing ability.

Members flocked to Ebotse Links over the weekend for the annual club championships.

Just over 90 members entered the event.

According to Ebotse Links golf director Dean Kupferman, the links course was in pristine condition for the flagship event of the year.

“Betheul Moyo and his team worked very hard over the past month to get the golf course in this condition,” said Kupferman.

“The course was fairly set up, but the wind blew hard during round one and made it a bit difficult for the members.

“Well done to all the winners who received prizes at club champs.”

On the course, it was Liam van Deventer who took the men’s A-division title with his gross score, but was given a good run for his money by rising 14-year-old female golfer Kiera Floyd (last year’s women’s champion who decided to play against the men this time around).

Floyd shot a gross score of 147 over the two days to finish as runner-up.

The women’s champion, winning the women’s B-division, is Theresa Ross whose gross score of 187 secured her the accolades.
