Benoni karatekas bring home the medals

The Benoni club members fared well in the face of fierce competition, with more than 2 000 competitors across the various disciplines, and brought home eight medals.

Members of the Benoni Tenshinkan O’Reilly Merry Dojo, under the instruction of hanshi Hans Haupt, recently went to Japan and competed in the Tenshinkan All-Japan Karate Championships in Hasuda-Shi, Saitama-Ken.

The members left early to take part in a week-long Gashuku Training Camp in Japan.

Members of the Dan Triangle Karate Club, under sensei Chris Anthony, competed at the Development Gauteng All Styles Championships, winning two medals, and also tasted success at the KSA League Championships in Durban.
