Hadji squashes all before him
Squash has officially been classified as the healthiest of all sports.
Northmead resident Pano Hadji swept aside the top two seeds en route to capturing the Eastern Closed senior squash title at the Boksburg Squash Centre recently.
The 37-year-old squash coach entered the annual tournament, which attracts the region’s top players, as the fifth-seed, and remarkably didn’t concede a single game for the entire duration of the games.
The event was also a qualifier for the SA Inter-Provincial Tournament, the Jarvis Kaplan Cup.

He encountered tough resistance from fourth-seed Tristan Henderson in the first round before prevailing 3-0, which earned him a semi-final spot against top seed Zweli Makgalemele.
With the top seed ousted, Hadji faced second-seed Dikana Mthombeni in the final and emerged with another dominant shut-out (3-0) in the best-of-five-game decider.
