BMX star keeps rising

He was nominated by the Gauteng BMX board commission for the Overall Provincial Champion of the Year award, which is a floating trophy.

Benoni’s Joshua Broughton, who rides for the Kempton Park BMX Club, recently attended the provincial and national BMX commission prize-giving at Montecasino, where he received a very special award.

He was nominated by the Gauteng BMX board commission for the Overall Provincial Champion of the Year award, which is a floating trophy.

The following clubs are part of the Gauteng BMX commission and only three people are nominated from these clubs to win this prestigious award: Alrode BMX Club, Kempton Park BMX Club, Germiston BMX Club and The Cradle Cycling Club.

“Once the nominees have been chosen, the board votes for which person they believe deserves it most with regards to their training and effort towards BMX throughout the year,” said Maxine Nortjie, Broughton’s mom.
