Benoni’s Michaela Janse van Rensburg has won the 2019 national title for the SA Youth Open Equitation Championship at the annual junior and pony national championship, held at the Kyalami Equestrian Park last year.

The championship lasted seven days.

With this winning title, she qualifies to ride in the prestigious Phillip Smith Memorial competition in April, this year.
Not only did Michaela win this national title but she was also the winner of all junior open equestrian competitions held in Gauteng throughout last year, which includes, the Junior Derby, the Mark White Nissan League, the Easter festival and the SANESA school national championship.
