Nehal Thomas from the Eastern Gauteng Badminton Association (EGBA) was selected for the u-15 South African team that participated in the All Africa u-15 Championship in Cotonou, Benin, in August.
South Africa won bronze in the team event and Thomas won bronze for the girls doubles category.
She trains at the John Barrable Hall in Benoni.
