Local kayaks finish second at Centurion 9 miler

The event was won by the Mixed-Double team of Clinton Cook and Christie Mackenzie from Dabulamanzi Canoe Club

East Rand Kayaking’s Tommy Booth and Richard Tandy finished second in the sub-veteran category at Centurion Canoe Club 9 Miler, on July 23, at Rietvlei Dam.

The duo finished in a time of 01:30:00.

The event was won by the mixed-double team of Clinton Cook and Christie Mackenzie from Dabulamanzi Canoe Club.

Cook and Mackenzie finished in a time of 01:25:37 to claim first place.

“The race took place on a pleasantly warm spring day in Centurion while the water was calm and pleasant,” said Gauteng Canoe Union media liaison Jenny Dallas.
