Northerns looking for revenge against Old Bens in derby

Benoni Northerns Football Club will take on arch-rivals Old Bens in a crunch Easterns Super League encounter at Northerns A field on August 20.
The last time the two giants clashed, Old Bens walloped Northerns 4-1 on May 7 at Currin Park.
Since then Northerns have been on an impressive run, winning nine matches and drawing two. They go into this game fourth on the log on 36 points, three points ahead of Bens and with a game in hand.
Coach Enrique Uriol-Juanas said despite their opponents’ form, he expects a tough match.
“We are looking forward to this match. It will be difficult but hopefully, our form will continue and we can get some revenge.
“It will be a tough match. I have no doubt we will give it 150%. They have been through a challenging period having lost their last four games. But thy have lost by the slightest of margins and games could’ve gone either way too.
“We are taking them seriously and we are under no illusions how difficult it will be to beat them. We are ready and preparing well,” he said.

Although Old Bens are going through a rough patch at the moment, it would be naïve to assume they will go to Northmead to donate points.
The Rynfield side goes into this game on the back of three losses. Since the derby on May 7, they have won four, lost four and drew three.
Bens coach Mike Lee stated that he expects a fight from his charges.
“It’s always a heated battle. They’ve got the home-ground advantage and are looking for payback from the last game. It’s going to be a tough one.
“We hope to do the double over them this year. I expect a fiery game and also some goals. It will be an entertaining game for the spectators,” Lee said.
