Aintree SA jumping ahead

Almost all the riders competing this year at SANESA came home with Rosettes for their well-earned results and made both the district and provincial teams.

Local showjumpers from Aintree riding school in Benoni are basking in rosettes after their impressive performances at the SANESA showjumping provincial finals for primary and high schools on July 31 and August 7.

Almost all the riders competing came home victorious with their well-earned results to qualify for both the district and provincial teams.

Not to be left out are the competitive riders competing in graded shows like Ismail Delair, who currently competes with horse Victory Cruise.

The riding instructor at the school, Louise Kennedy, expressed her happiness at how her students performed.

“We couldn’t be prouder of our riders. Their riding is only going from strength to strength,” she said.

Tenielle Prentice had a promising start to the season, earning herself placings in the first two district qualifiers obtaining a third and sixth place. She could not compete in the next two qualifiers.

Eryn Preston (16), Cara Jackson (17), Lieze van Aswegan (17) and Logan Landsberg (17) made the Gauteng team and will compete on October 2 against other provincial teams.

The school’s primary school riders Eva Henderson (12) and Kayla van Ginkel (13) will represent the province in both their classes for show jumping at the nationals.

• Kayla van Ginkel, Woodlands Prep, Victory Roll, 70cm, sixth for both classes, team B

• Logan Landsberg, Sion Private School, Doc Holiday, 80cm, eighth, team B
• Cara Jackson, Benoni High, Mystic, 1m, first and third, team A
• Eryn Preston, Jeppe High for Girls, Ashgar Night Sky, 1m, seventh, team B
