Club looking forward to successful 2023
"We are looking forward to the Gauteng and national championships next year,”
Sensei Mike Forner is upbeat about the future after his students’ exceptional performance at the JKA inter-club tournament in Heidelberg recently.
The club raked in a total of 30 medals.
Forner held a celebration ceremony where he invited parents on November 9. All the winners were presented with their medals.

The club’s brown belt trio of Brandon Prince, Gideon van Vollenstee and Kelvin Anderson performed their unison kata.
Forner said they are looking forward to another successful year in 2023.
“Everyone is very upbeat after this great success. We are all very motivated and we look forward to the Gauteng and national championships next year,” said Forner.

He raved about his karatekas’ commitment which he credited for their success.
“Their performances were exceptional, we’re extremely proud of them and all the hard training they put into this event.
We spent many hours perfecting the katas and practised kumite drills, especially tournament style fighting.”

The fourth dan thanked his students for always listening to him.
Forner also thanked the senior students for helping with the training of the younger karateka.
“My seniors have also contributed enormously to this success, helping to correct and teach younger and less experienced students,” he said.
