Sensei proud of students for success at tournament
"I’m proud of their achievements and look forward to more medals during the year."
The Benoni Honbu Dojo students won 13 medals during the Eastern Gauteng Championship on March 11.
The karateka collected eight gold medals and five silvers.
The dojo’s instructor, Shahan-Dai Catherine Venter, said she’s proud of their achievement and looks forwards to a successful year.
The winners were as follows:
• Rahie Beharie: kata silver and kumite gold
• Dyaana Beharie: kata gold and kumite silver
• Krysten Wardill: kata gold and kumite gold
• Brandon Wardill: kumite gold
• Joyce Ilunga: kata gold and kumite silver
• Michel Ilunga: kata gold and kumite silver
• Peace Ilunga: kata silver and kumite gold
