Hear the African sounds and rhythms of Barcode

A band with a uniquely South African sound, Barcode, will perform at Carnival City on Saturday, November 9.

Barcode celebrate their heritage by performing a diverse mix of South African favourite music.

Their music is up-tempo and fun and crosses styles such as house, dance and kaito.

In additional to their original material, they have taken popular songs from the past few decades and blended them into an evening of easily recognisable music guaranteed to entertain just about any audience.

A Barcode show is likely to include songs like Weekend Special, Waka Waka, Pata Pata, Vulindela, Destiny, I love music, Ndihamba Nawe and many more.

The group consists of Lindiwe Maxolo on vocals; Olivia van Gass and Reabetswe Ngoasheng on black and white electric violins; Brendan Jury on keyboards, DJ and live tracks and electric viola; and Jerome Reynard on drums.

The band’s look is stylish and elegant, but their onstage performance is very upbeat.
