The Muffins to perform at Carnival

Renowned music group The Muffins (Sifiso Buthelezi, Simphiwe Kulla, Mthabisi Sibanda, Karabo Moeketsi and Gregory Mabusela) will perform for all their East Rand fans at Carnival City on December 16.

The group will perform along side Zahara, The Soil and Mi Casa.

“Our fans can expect a truly exciting show on Monday, it’s going to be quite a ride,” said The Muffins.

The group describes their music as mixed but pleasing to the ear.

“There is a bit of jazz, rock, reggae and a lot African and soul, all the members play an instrument and sing so our sound is quite interesting,” said the group.

They are all from Johannesburg, most of them met at the University of Johannesburg while studying various courses.

Their advice for East Randers who would like to follow in their footsteps is:

“Life is the longest experience any one human can have, you don’t want to be miserable going through it.
“So find what love and do that, money shouldn’t always be the only reason or motivation to do things.”

“The hardest part about our entire journey was the sacrifice, giving up oneself so that our dream can live, we were so broke but it was necessary.

“Also, trying to convince everyone that they should give us a chance was very difficult,” they said.

They added that the easiest part was coming up with the music.

In five years time they would like to see themselves three albums in and performing on stages across the globe.

They are currently working on new material for their upcoming CD.

“We would like to thank all our fans for their support, and for growing with us,”concluded the group.
