Hardy publishes another book
Rynfield resident Natasha Hardy recently had her second novel published.
The novel, “Fire”, is the sequel to “Water”, which was published in August.
Her new novel was launched at Hardy’s high school in KwaZulu-Natal, in April.
”It was great to be back at the school and really lovely to interact with some of the teachers who taught me,” she said.
”I spoke to the high school students about writing and publishing and the changes that are taking place in the industry.
”I’m also really excited because I launched an art competition requesting the students to depict certain scenes from ‘Water’ and ‘Fire’.”
The author said she is excited about seeing what the students have done by the end of May.
“Fire”, a fantasy fiction book, is almost exclusively set underwater.
”I loved writing ‘Fire’,” said Hardy.
”There was so much to think about in terms of special orientation, and life underwater.
”My husband and I have been deep sea diving and that experience really helped to describe the colours and the feeling of weightlessness.
”The setting did pose some problems for me, though, as fast or sharp movements are all difficult and sound is almost a non-entity.
”I also had great fun creating sea creatures and, one of them, Mitra, is my favourite character so far.”
Hardy is now working on another book, which she hopes will be completed by the end of May and published by August.
“Fire” is available as an e-book on most online directories.
