Join the Zumbathon for charity
Put your on workout clothes and join the Hirsch's Zumbathon party, with dance instructor Martie Spanenberg, on Saturday, December 13.
The aim is to collect goods for charity and to “jump” between two Hirsch branches.
The event will commence at Hirsch’s Boksburg from 9am till 10am and continue at Hirsch’s Meadowdale from 11am till noon.
The Zumbathon is set to feel more like a dance party than an exercise class.
Event organiser Brigitte Thysse said it is a fun and exciting way to raise money for charity.
“From my previous Zumba event, in 2012, I managed to raise R3 000 over two one-hour Zumba sessions in one morning, in aid of the House of Hadassah,” she said.
This year the entry fee is four toiletries of your choice (toothpaste, toilet paper, soap, etc.) which will be donated to four charities, including Haven Care, in Benoni.
Participants are encouraged to dress according to the “lumo” theme.
There are lots of prizes to be won.
You do not need to do the Zumba to participate.
Even if you have two left feet, a fun and exciting experience is promised to all, for a good cause.
“You might even learn a few dance moves for December, you never know,” added Thysse
