Two wins on the trot

Benoni Northerns Football Club’s (BNFC) first XI have that winning feeling about the team again.

The side have responded to an opening game defeat by winning two games in succession in the ELFA Super League.

After a 3-1 home victory over Alberton, on Saturday, March 21, coach Jannie van den Berg’s men battled hard in a highly competitive game of football against Bedfordview Country Club (BCC), on Saturday, March 28, and emerged 2-1 victors.

After going 1-0 down, captain Wade Marshall and his troops did exceptionally well to score two goals in the final 10 minutes of the encounter.

Van den Berg, as he did last week, with Brogan Shrimpton, again made a telling substitution as Kagiso Thebe came on to score the equalising goal for BNFC, while skipper Marshall bagged the second goal in the dying embers of the game, to ensure all three points for the Benoni team.
