Audi TT RS 40 Years of Quattro breaks cover but it’s not coming to SA

Sorry South Africans, we can all admire from a distance. 

The Audi Quattro is one famous main technology pillars of the brand with the four rings and to celebrate 40 years of the system, Audi is introducing a limited-edition TT RS Coupe 40 Years of Quattro model.

The sad thing about the limited-edition TT RS Coupe is that only 40 units will be made and none are planned for other markets except for Germany.

So in short, none of the 40 units are allocated for our market.

The Audi TT RS 40 Years of Quattro wears an Alpine White hue plus special decals inspired by those of the Audi Sport quattro S1.

The decals on the hood, roof and rear fenders are For an even greater visual impact, the decals on the hood, roof, and rear fenders are accompanied by glossy black accents.

It rides on 20-inch wheels that also house red brake callipers. It also gets Four Rings logos on the rear wing’s endplates and on the quarter glass. Depending on your preference, the TT RS can be had as a two-seater by opting for the carbon strut cross brace.

Opting for that entirely replaces the rear bench while also shedding close to 16 kg. Its power comes courtesy of a 2.5-litre TFSI engine with 294 kW of power and 480 Nm of torque.

All that grunt enables the coupe to dash from a standstill to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds en route to a capped top speed of 280 km/h.

Each model is individually numbered on the gear lever for the seven-speed S Tronic transmission that sends power to all four corners.
