“One of my first songs was about how I grew up without knowing my father, and the thought of that inspired me to write a song I love making songs that people can relate to, songs with a message about what’s going on in and around the country.

“I believe my music is unique because it combines hip hop and jazz elements. I haven’t heard about that kind of sound before in the industry,” said Jahlom Psyche.

He said he released his first EP, Sgemegeme, in 2017 and then worked with Vukani M productions, a local production company owned by Thabo Masemola.

“The production created music videos for the Sgemegeme EP. One of my songs received airplay on music channels such as Channel O, MTV, and Mzansi Music.

“I’ve collaborated with a number of artists on the East Rand, including Maradona, Wrong Button, and Ntate Kori Moraba. I’ve released a number of tapes in an effort to get my name out there,” he said.

The artist is working on his second EP, The SaxTape, with his colleague Boss Tenor, a saxophonist. The EP will be released on his birthday – May 26.
