Help your child make a DIY confetti bookmark
Your child will love making a confetti bookmark. All you need are a few craft supplies and some imagination.
It’s Saturday and that means trying to think of innovative ways to keep your kids busy. A confetti bookmark is easy to make, and perfect for children who enjoy arts and crafts.
What you need
- A plastic page protector
- Needle and thread, or sewing machine
- Coloured cardboard
- Scissors
- Silver sequence
- Buttons or beads
- Glitter
- A funnel (optional)
- Wool
- Large needle
- Punch
Here’s how to make it
- Sew a rectangle onto the plastic page protector, leaving the top open. Cut it out.
- Make your confetti by cutting coloured cardboard into tiny pieces.
- Once you have all your confetti cut out, add some silver sequins, or other bits and bobs you have around the house, like small buttons or beads.
- Use a funnel and insert the confetti into the plastic pocket.
- Use a sewing machine to close the opening of the plastic pocket.
- Grabe a hole punch and yarn to make the bookmark tassel.
Good to know: This craft requires close adult supervision as it involves small items that could be potentially harmful to your child if swallowed.
