George Campbell School of Technology, one of the main technology high schools in Durban, offers a specialised academic education in which learners follow a technologically-based curriculum.  All learners are offered a subject package that can lead to admission to all recognised tertiary institutions.

Competency in mathematics, science and technology is required because of the specialised nature of the curriculum offered.  Aptitude assessment programme is a service provided to help make the correct decision as to whether the learner has an aptitude for technology.

Specialised technology electives include:

Civil services focuses on all plumbing related services.

Construction focuses on the development of concrete and brick structures

Woodworking focuses on structures such as roof trusses, windows and doors.

Electrical systems refer to applications of electricity where heavy current form mains supply.

Electronics introduces the learner to analogue electronics, utilising mainly light current applications.

Digital electronics is geared towards learners with a strong interest in computers and programming.

Automotive comprises of aspects of petrol-and diesel-driven vehicles.

Fitting and machining includes turning, milling, cutting etc.

Welding and metalwork includes welding (gas, ARC, MIG/MAGS).

Information Technology and Computer Applications Technology which is an eighth subject offered after school hours.
