“The CANSA Shavathon is one of South Africa’s best-loved fundraising events. It was incredible to see our team not only covering the event but fully participating, with many having their hair sprayed in vibrant colours. But the real stars of the day were our generous sponsors,” she said.

And let’s not forget the awesome raffles that had everyone buzzing with excitement. Staff got behind them with full hearts (and hopeful eyes), snapping up tickets for a chance to win some incredible prizes, including a mouth-watering quiche hamper from Ouma Anna, a jam-packed snack basket from SPAR Kensington, and the ultimate treat: a one-night stay for two at the stunning Radisson Blu Umhlanga.

“Your support made a meaningful difference, not only in helping us raise much-needed funds, but in bringing warmth, vibrance, and a real sense of unity. This event reminded us of the power of community and that no one should face the fight against cancer alone. We are especially grateful to our clients and sponsors whose continued support helped make this possible,” said Nicole Berichon, Business Manager of Caxton Local Media Durban.
