International speaker for floral art meeting
Visiting from Ireland, Malcolm Kitt will spend time at the Durban Floral Art Club meeting next week.

FLORAL Art Club Durban is going international on Tuesday 27 August .
Malcolm Edwin Kitt from Cobh County, Cork, Ireland will put on a ‘Floral Extravaganza’ for the club’s stage presentation.
Malcolm left South Africa in 2000 to take up the position of head gardener for Sir and Lady Pilkington in England. While there he competed in the World Flower Show in Scotland in 2002 and at the Chelsea Flower Show a number of times. He assisted David Davidson and Raymond Hudson in the Kirstenbosch exhibit at Chelsea where the stand received a Gold Award. He has also participated in the Flower Festival in San Francisco, California.
After moving to Ireland, Malcolm held the position of interior landscape manager for Floral Décor Elegance Florist and wholesale supplier in Cork. He is a popular demonstrator in England, Northern Ireland and The Republic of Ireland. Malcolm also teaches container gardening to physically disabled students and flower arranging to two colleges and a school in Cork.
He has lived in Cobh for about 12 years on a perfectly manicured half acre landscaped garden which is open to the public. Before moving overseas, Malcolm was chairman of the Institute of Parks, Recreation and Administration. He was a member of Durban and Coast Horticultural Society and Westville Horticultural Society, he was also involved in the Natal Rose Society and a Floral Art Judge.
The Floral Art Club meets at the Westville Civic Centre on 27 August starting at 9.15am. Tea will be served mid morning and the floral art competition will be on display after tea. The show will start immediately after prizegiving and will end at noon.
