The Florida Road Urban Improvement Precinct (UIP) has recognised eight of its Road Ambassadors for their dedication and commitment to the community after they reported for duty during the uncertainty surrounding the planned anti-illegal immigration protests on June 30.

Despite concerns over possible disruptions and unrest, the dedicated ambassadors reported and remained on duty, providing a visible presence throughout the precinct.

The Florida Road UIP thanked the team for their professionalism and willingness to serve the community during a challenging time.

“Their presence ensured that businesses, residents, and visitors continued to experience a visible and reassuring presence throughout the precinct,” the UIP said.

As a token of appreciation, each ambassador received a Checkers voucher in recognition of their efforts and commitment.

The UIP also acknowledged the important role the ambassadors play daily in maintaining the welcoming atmosphere that has become synonymous with the popular lifestyle and entertainment destination.

“Thank you for being the eyes, ears, and welcoming face of Florida Road,” the UIP said.

The Road Ambassadors recognised were Simphiwe Dlamini, Sanele Kunene, Sibusiso Kunene, Sihle Mgcinwa, Nsizwa Mkhize, Senzo Mbele, Mlungisi Shabane and Melusi Nzuza.

The recognition highlights the UIP’s appreciation for frontline personnel who continue to serve the precinct, often in difficult circumstances, while contributing to the safety, cleanliness and vibrancy of Florida Road.
