Cindy means business

It's not about the awards, but by the difference you make, says Durban businesswoman.

DURBAN businesswoman, Cindy Norcott, has been named winner of the Services Category at the annual South Africa’s Most Influential Women in Business and Government Awards.

A total of 60 finalists in 20 sectors from across the country, ranging from healthcare to agriculture, basic industries to public enterprises were selected from more than a 1000 nominees and judged by three independent judging panels.

Over the past 19 years, Cindy Norcott, owner and manager of recruitment agency, Pro-Appointments, has used her astute business acumen to buy two of her competitors.

“I am thrilled with this award and honoured to have been nominated among such talented women. I am also very proud that KZN had a few winners in the different categories of this national competition. KZN has a lot of great talent and potential and I am pleased that our businesses can compete with those nationally,” said Cindy.

Cindy attributes her success to her motivational, approachable and hands-on leadership style.

“My company has been profitable every year since inception. We even managed to grow our market share during the tough times of the recession when some of our competitors were closing shop or downsizing,” said Cindy.

A business coach and mentor, Cindy has won more than 10 business excellence awards in the past 15 years, including the Business Women’s Association of South Africa Regional Achiever Award. She is also the founder of the Durban-based NGO, The Robin Hood Foundation.
