SONGBIRDS will flock to Durban for the 36th Old Mutual National Choir Festival competition, which kicks off on Sunday 8 September at the Durban City Hall.
Choirs will belt their hearts out in the hope of securing regional championship titles where the best of the best will take the stage at the national finals in Durban.
Sixteen choirs will perform Western and African songs in front of judges who will select one winner in the standard and large categories to represent the province at the finals.
Bandile Mngoma, Old Mutual Sponsorship Manager, said: “The choral competition is back to showcase KwaZulu-Natal’s best talent. Old Mutual’s long standing support for the competition is a sign of our commitment to help preserve our choral heritage. Many choirs will take to the stage but there will only be one winner in each category. We call on the many choral music enthusiasts in the province to join us and support their choirs to greatness.”
Tickets for the regional championships are available from Computicket at R40. No tickets will be sold at the door.
