JAZZ lovers have a great line-up to look forward to when the third SAJE Jazz Festival takes place at the Centre for Jazz and Popular Music at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, Durban from 13 to 15 September.

Established in 2009, the SAJE Jazz Festival celebrates local and international jazz and jazz education.

Included in the three day line-up are a diverse group of world-class jazz artists, educators and jazz bands with collaborative performances at the Hilton Arts Festival, The Jazzy Rainbow (concerts and jam sessions) and at the Rainbow Restaurant in Pinetown.

The SAJE Jazz Festival line-up will appeal to jazz lovers across all demographics – giving everyone the opportunity to attend a concert or workshop.

This year’s event promises to live up to its proud tradition of diverse live jazz concerts, entertainment of the highest order, jam sessions and educational workshops.

There will be a two day jazz workshop project for high school pupils, teachers and others, at the Centre for Jazz and Popular Music at UKZN, on 13 and 14 September. This year, students from schools in and around Durban will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in jazz study and performance with a star-studded line-up of professional musicians and educators.

Registration for the SAJE Jazz Festival Jazz Workshops Project can be made by contacting Thulile Zama at the Centre for Jazz and Popular Music offices at UKZN at (031)260-3385 or email zamat1@ukzn.ac.za
