Top choirs to perform
Durban audiences are in for a treat when the Pretoria Camerata Choir performs a celebration of song with the Durban Men's Choir

SOUTH Africa’s top university choir, the Pretoria Camerata Choir together with the Durban Men’s Choir will be presenting a celebration in song.
The Pretoria Camerata Choir sings mostly acapella and is led by Michael Joseph Barrett who was a member of the Drakensberg Boys Choir and has served as adjudicator for choir competitions nationally and internationally.
The Durban Men’s Choir has been going strong for four decades and has entertained and given much joy to all who have watched them perform. The choir’s musical director and conductor is the multi-talented Norraine Swanby, the accompanist is Ryan Canning and the assistant conductor is Peter Spence.
The concert promises to appeal to everyone with music from “Mozart to Modern”, including pieces from operas, plays and theatre musicals.
“Truly all tastes will be catered for and it will be a night to remember for a long time. This concert is an opportunity for local people to come and be entertained on a very high note,” said chairman of the Durban Men’s Choir Peter Howard.
The concert will take place on Friday 20 September, at 7pm at the Westville Methodist Church, Jan Hofmeyer Road, Westville.
Tickets are R50 each and can be obtained from the Church Office on 031 266 5222. Light refreshments will be available at the interval.
