Councillors suspended for colluding with ANC

The DA in eThekwini has suspended two of its councillors.

The DA suspended two of its eThekwini councillors on Tuesday following a special sitting of its Provincial Management Committee.

According to a press statement by Haniff Hoosen, DA KZN Provincial chairperson, the committee decided to suspend the two councillors,  Ronnie Veeran and Roy Moodley  after it was discovered they were sabotaging the party behind the scenes by releasing sensitive information to the ANC.

“We believe these two councillors have been working with the ANC since Veeran lost an internal election for a seat on the DA’s executive committee in eThekwini in March this year. As occasionally happens in politics, certain individuals seek new political homes after losing internal elections,” he said.
