Get a taste of hilarious dysfunctional human nature with the new play, Death, Dysfunction and a Duck from UKZN's Drama Department.
UNIVERSITY of KwaZulu-Natal’s Howard College Drama Department proudly presents a new production, ‘Death, Dysfunction and a Duck’ a fun-filled evening of short, bizarre skits written by controversial American playwright, Christopher Durang until Saturday 17 May at Studio 5, Howard College Drama Department.
From tearing your hair out at the Licensing Department to being assaulted by the neighbour from hell, this selection of plays directed by Brandon Moulder and Donna Steel showcases the kind of macabre humour flecked with innocent sweetness and dark satirical bite that Durang is both famous and adored for.
Steel says the production is provocative, outrageous, engaging and dynamic, “the line-up – which includes Diversions, Funeral Parlour, Medea and Naomi in the Living Room – parodies the dirty naked truth about dysfunctional human nature and allows us to have a good chuckle at ourselves in all our glorified absurdity.”
The show is not suitable for children and runs nightly at 6.30pm except Friday, 16 May. Tickets are R40 with a R20 concession for students and pensioners. Contact Claudette Wagner on 031 260 3133 for bookings, tickets are available at the door.
