Umbilo SAPS women honoured

Women from Umbilo SAPS were honoured during the 16 Days of Activism campaign.

SAPS Umbilo and Victim Support Centre women were treated to an event during the 16-Days-of-Activism recently.

Various SAPS members showed their support in joining the women from SAPS Umbilo on the day, and honoured guests were Tony Blaunfeldt from the Umbilo Business Forum, Ben Madokwe, CPF chairman, Arlene Abraham and Marion Katzer from the Union of Jewish Women, SAPS Provincial Women's Network chairlady Major General Mokete and SAPS Brighton Beach Cluster communications officer Capt Louise Le Roux.

Jayshree Naidoo volunteered her time to give an inspiring motivational talk, and Adrian The Magician had everyone in awe and laughter with his tricks and antics.

“We thank all our supporters for showing us their kindness and support. They are all very special to us and we hold them very dear to our hearts. A very special thanks goes to the Umbilo Business Forum, A & B Electrical's Bernie Carr and the Union for Jewish Women, who are also the founders of the Victim Support Centre, and the Queensmead Mall for assisting us with funds toward the event and planning. Without all our supporters the event would not have been such a great success,” said Pauline Thompson, SAPS Umbilo event co-ordinator and vice-chairperson.
