POLICE are conducting investigations after a newborn baby was found dead in the Durban CBD on Thursday afternoon.
Robert Mckenzie, spokesman for Emergency Medical Services said KZN EMS paramedics were called to the heart-breaking case in the Durban CBD early on Thursday afternoon.
“Passers-by had found a newborn baby in a rubbish bin in the Queen and Russell Street area. Paramedics assessed the baby boy and sadly the baby was found to have no signs of life and the paramedics had to make the heart ranching decision to declare the baby deceased,” Mckenzie explained.
He added that police were already at the scene when the paramedics arrived and are investigating the incident and the circumstances surrounding the case.
